New Jersey has six Legal Services programs: 5 regional programs, which provide direct services to clients in all 21 counties through 23 local offices, and Legal Services of New Jersey (LSNJ), the statewide coordinating office. LSNJ provides advice, information, and referrals to low-income people in civil legal matters.

Legal Services of Northwest Jersey (LSNWJ) provides multiple services for sexual assault victims and their families in Northwest Jersey. To qualify, income and assets must fall within LSNWJ's eligibility guidelines.
Morris Family Justice Project: provides services to victims of domestic violence. An LSNWJ attorney and paralegal provide comprehensive legal assistance to clients of the Morris Family Justice Center, operated by JBWS.
LIBRE (Legal Intervention Brings Recovery and Empowerment) Project: LIBRE provides services to assist victims and survivors of domestic abuse. LSNWJ provides legal assistance in matters affecting the client's essential needs, while the domestic abuse service agencies provide case management, counseling, safe shelter, and support groups.

Essex-Newark Legal Services (ENLS) is a private non-profit organization that provides free legal assistance in civil matters to very low income residents of Essex County, New Jersey. ENLS may be able help with your civil (non-criminal) legal problem if your income and assets fall within ENLS eligibility guidelines. ENLS's staff includes French Creole, Portuguese and Spanish language speakers
Domestic Violence Representation Project: provides legal advice and representation for survivors of domestic violence who seek restraining orders to protect themselves and their families from further abuse. We also help undocumented individuals who are victims of domestic violence or human trafficking and who are eligible for "U" or "T" visas.

Central Jersey Legal Services (CJLS) is a nonprofit law firm. We offer free legal help in civil (non-criminal) cases for low-income residents of Mercer, Middlesex and Union Counties, depending on household income and type of legal problem. CJLS has limited resources, and we are not able to provide help to everyone who is eligible. We have guidelines which give some cases higher priority than others.

The Coalition Against Rape and Abuse (C.A.R.A.) Law Project provides FREE legal counseling and FREE legal representation to survivors of Domestic Violence that are seeking a Temporary and/or Final Restraining Order. The Law Project was created in 1998 and was made possible through the IOLTA Fund and the State Department of Human Services. ALL Law Project services are open to male and female domestic violence survivors and are free regardless of available income.
